The Best Reader + TIME

Hello 2010

I don't really even know where to start with this post; 2010 is going to be a crazy year. First let's start with life:

  • I'm going to Vegas at the end of January
  • I'll take the GRE the beginning of February
  • I begin Student Teaching March 1st
  • I graduate May 8th
  • My best friend is getting married (bridesmaid) on May 29th
  • My other best friend is getting married on June 12th
  • I will attend my first all school reunion June 25th — 27th
  • I will attend my hometown's centennial reunion along with the largest family reunion ever July 22nd — 25th
  • My (very) best friend is getting married (Maid of Honor) on my birthday (August 7th)
  • Somewhere between all of this I will be applying for a full time teaching position, looking for a place to live, and trying to figure out "the rest of my life."
A year from now, I will be living completely on my own with a full time job (doing what I love). I will be talking books every day to formidable minds and (hopefully) inspiring students to read recreationally.

That is one scary thought.

But I am SO ready. I've been waiting for this year since 2002 when I was a freshman in high school. I am ready to do what I know I was meant to do. I am ready to make a difference. I'm ready to begin the rest of my life.

In the next 12 months my life is going to drastically change. I'm not sure where this crazy life is going to take me. South Dakota. Minnesota. Who knows?

In the next year, life choices will be made. I will become a legit adult (with bills and everything).

2009 was a "hot mess" to put it lightly. I want this year to be amazing. I want to grow from a young adult to a full-fledged adult. I want to better myself like never before (inside and out). So I plan on:

  • Keeping a consistent journal
  • Working out regularly
  • Eating better (even vegetables — ick)
  • Learning to cook
  • Reading everyday
  • Writing everyday
  • Making a "Do Something Good" list at the beginning of the week and following through with it to accomplish one "do something good" thing everyday
  • Being more positive
  • Spending more time with my friends than at the library studying

best, book, cook, hope, LIFE, and more:
