"Hell on earth.

That’s what it’s like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.
It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts—immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.

At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn’t told her everything. He’s hiding something—something dangerous.
What if Daniel’s version of the past isn’t actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?"

I'll be honest, I almost didn't continue on with Luce and Daniel after "Fallen. " But when I got the call about my Dad it was the only audiobook I had and I knew I couldn't make that drive alone. Not only was this book a great sophomore novel (I'd even say better than "Fallen "), but it made that awful trip so much more bearable. Every time I was about to break down I'd get swept back into Luce and Miles... er Daniel. This audiobook did what I think all readers are ultimately looking for — it swept me away completely.
After the weekend and the drive home, I sat in the drive way for a few minutes before remembering that I had a hard copy (or two) in my house! I read the last 100 pages in the comfort of my comfy chair and over-sized fleece blanket. I know this review is a little "off" in regards to professionalism and "this is why I liked/didn't like this book," and I understand that this review is completely based off my emotions — but sometimes that's what a person needs in a book.

Immediately after finishing this novel I interlibrary loaned "Passion" on audiobook (and hard copy).
