Is is just me, or does it bother anyone else when you see a newly published book with the characters from the movie on it? I see why publishers/movie makers do it — but still. It just bothers me seeing Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's faces all over the Twilight books in Walmart when there should be an apple. And it's nothing against Stewart and Pattinson — even Jennifer Anniston and Owen Wilson (who I would marry if I could) on the cover of Marley and Me just drives me mad!
Why does it bother me? I have no idea. Maybe because now it's almost impossible to find a new copy of the 'hands' Twilight book? Since I've already told you about my Twilight love/hate relationship — maybe I should use a different example. Marley and Me. I really enjoyed the movie — and I really enjoyed the book too! But why can't I have Owen Wilson and Jennifer Anniston on the DVD cover and Marley on the book cover? Why must they combine it?
Obviously, I know why — marketing and sales. But still — I refuse to buy books with the move covers on it. In the case of Marley and Me, I saw the movie before I read the book and then when I went to look for the book I had to really search for about two weeks before I tracked down the 'original' cover.
Am I crazy? Anybody else?
