1. Can you describe Transcend to us in your own words?
Transcend is the “unofficial” prequel to Phantom of the Opera that follows one young mans struggle against his family expectations. It takes the reader on an emotional ride in which up is down, right is wrong, and nothing is as it seems. Ien Montgomery risks everything, including his sanity, to follow his heart and pursue his loves for music and his muse Kiera. The cost for his actions are more than anyone could have foreseen.
2. What is one of your favorite lines from the book?
“There is a terror on the edge of silence, a terror fed by my burning flesh and the stench of death.”
3. Can you tell us a little about Aydan and Zane from the Requiem series?
Ah yes, Aydan and Zane. I truly LOVE both of this characters so much that I can never decide which “team” I am on.
Aydan is the quintessential bad boy. Born an angel, fallen from grace in order to avenge the murder of his one true love, cast as Azzaziel’s apprentice, he is forced to live a life of evil. That is, until fate intervenes, bring his love back into his life. And he decides to reject his evil Master. But, can you really reject what you’ve become? Can you ever make amends for murder? Aydan is dark, mysterious, deeply emotional and will sacrifice everything for his love, even his soul.
Zane is Aydan’s opposite. An angel of the Order of Mediators, Zane is the epitome of a future Council member. Loyal, strong, steady—he follows the rules of his existence, no matter the cost. But, he has a secret. He is in love with a fellow angel. For her, he sacrifices more than his life. But, will she reciprocate his love in the end? Or is her heart already taken.
4. Do you have any Halloween traditions?
I am pretty into traditions. For Halloween, I have traditionally made my children’s costumes. It is something my mother did for me, and I have carried on that tradition. On the “big” night, I go trick-or-treating with them. And yes, I’ve been known to dress up as well. This year is all about Phantom!
